Priya Lotay
I’m a children’s illustrator working across both children’s books and editorial. My work is grounded in a love for nature and a sense of the magical, often drawing on soft, playful imagery to create worlds that feel both comforting and imaginative.
I’m particularly interested in exploring complex or difficult topics and translating them into something accessible for younger audiences. Through my work, I aim to create visuals that help children understand emotions, uncertainty, and the world around them in a way that feels gentle and engaging rather than overwhelming. Alongside narrative illustration, I also explore zine-making and editorial design, using these formats to experiment with storytelling, pacing, and voice.
My practice is driven by a desire to connect. I aim to create work that feels honest, thoughtful, and quietly impactful. Ultimately, I hope to create books and projects that children can return to, finding something new each time, and feeling a little more understood.
